Rover Woods – Charlottesville VA

The Rover Woods property features mountain off-road trails that traverse down and up and multiple ravines including rocks, climbs, and other 4×4 challenges. Ride takes about 4 hours depending on ground conditions.

Location Info: These 4×4 trails are hard blue. NOT stock or beginner friendly – Drivers should have off-road experience and off-road mods (skid plates, sliders, and tires). Body damage is possible due to slick conditions and steep slopes. Expect an elevation change on the trails of 2400ft to 2650ft, and a temperature difference of 5° from top to bottom. Also, dress appropriately as there is a 10°F difference (cooler) from this elevation to either Valley below. Additionally, there are only 2 spots available for trailer parking, and trailered rigs do need to purchase a trailer parking pass.

Vehicle Requirements & Recommendations:

• For short wheelbases (XJ, 2DR Wranglers, or similar) – 33 inch minimum tire size.
• For longer wheelbases (JT/JKU/JLU, 4Runner, Bronco or similar) – 35 inch min tire size.
• JTs & mid-sized trucks be warned, the trails are tight in spots.
• No full size vehicles.
• Tires must be MTs or aggressive ATs, and tires must have decent tread life left.
• Winch, skid plates, steel bumpers, & rock sliders recommended (Lockers will come in handy too).

4WD is required, and conditions can be muddy. If you get stuck, we will assist in recovery. F/R Tow points required. Supervised minors/kids welcome.

A GMRS radio is required: (1) you can rent one from us for $7 (Or 2) here is an Amazon link to the radios we use during our events (Or 3) radio rentals are included with a Wheelur Membership.

Amenities are primitive. Arrive up to 45 minutes early, please do not be late. Event starts promptly at event start time.  Exact address is included with ticket; This is a private property and the address is confidential for the owner’s privacy.  For planning your route, the property is within a 15 minute drive of Wintergreen Resort.
