What kind of rig/vehicle is required to be a W2W Ambassador?

W2W Ambassadors have many different types of 4×4 rigs. Your vehicle needs to have functioning 4WD with robust recovery points in the front and rear. Tires must be either all terrains or mud terrains. We prefer your vehicle has a working winch and some recovery gear (please see question below for more info).

What recovery gear do I need to have?

  • If you have a winch w/synthetic line: Need to have a set (2) of rope shackles, tree saver, and a winch ring.
  • If you have a winch w/steel cable: Need to have all of the above as well as a weighted bag (line damper), and instead of a winch ring you need to have a snatch block.
  • If you do not have a winch: Need to have a kinetic rope, set (2) of rope shackles, tree saver and/or static strap.

Other recommended/optional items: Shovel, flashlight, traction boards, machete/axe, zip ties, hand tools, & duct tape.

You can find most of the recovery items above here

Radios

For safe operations we do require our W2W Ambassadors to have GMRS radios – ideally 2 on hand. You can use whichever version GMRS radio you prefer but these are the ones we use.

E. = Safe Accessible Fun Entertainment and this should be at the forefront of your mind at all times during events. W2W Ambassador responsibilities include but not limited to:
